14 Dead in Batman Screening Shooting | Aurora

President Obama is “shocked and saddened” by the shooting at the Batman movie premiere in Aurora, Colorado, in which 14 people were killed and 50 wounded.

“We will do everything that we can to support the people of Aurora in this extraordinarily difficult time. As we do when confronted by moments of darkness and challenge, we must now come together as o

ne American family,” said Obama in a statement.

“All of us must have the people of Aurora in our thoughts and prayers as they confront the loss of family, friends, and neighbors, and we must stand together with them in the challenging hours and days to come,” said Obama, promising he would do everything in his power to bring those responsible to justice.

“We are committed to bringing whoever was responsible to justice, ensuring the safety of our people, and caring for those who have been wounded,” said Obama.

The scene of the shooting has been described as “chaos” by witnesses, as the gunman burst into the cinema and started shooting at people, killing 10 on the spot. Four more people were later proclaimed dead at the hospital, and 50 were wounded.

One suspect is in custody, but the police hasn’t released any details about his identity.
